Emotions soared as Centennial High School Apaches laughed, hugged, enlaced their fingers, rubbed backs and surprised themselves by recognizing numerous individuals who played a part in their melancholy memories of the past. November 9th, 2013 was "Pioneer Apache" renewal day at the Reef restaurant in Long Beach, California. A pleasant feeling enriched each personal encounter made by alumni with old neighbors, classmates and friends. The 60th Anniversary of Centennial High School brought men and women together who shared a special experience, a special place, and a special gift. The Apaches on that day were treated to prime-rib, salmon or chicken and by most accounts the guest were please with their meals. The richest part of the celebration was the thrill of seeing persons for the first time after 30, 40, 50 years. Few things can describe the feelings of joy and the thrill of reliving precious memories that Apaches had as they renewed old friendships.
